The concrete industry is not exempt from explosion risks in its production process. If we focus, for example, on the part related to fuel for boilers, the handling of materials such as coke or other combustible elements poses a high risk for the production process and the plant itself and its workers.
To protect against explosions in the concrete industry, we can make use of different equipment, highlighting the Suppression Systems, Vent Panels, and Flap Valves, defining two main points as far as explosion risk is concerned:
- Mill + Coke Separator System; a Suppression and Chemical Isolation System will be installed in those ducts that connect the mill with the cyclones and those that connect the filter itself with the cyclones.
- Bag Filter; the aim is to prevent the concentration of dust in suspension inside the filter from causing an explosion, for which purpose Vent Panels will be installed in the filter and Flap Valves will be installed in the filter connection.
In both cases, the systems installed are focused on avoiding an increase in pressure above the resistance value of the equipment and the propagation of the explosion to other installation points.
