The SIEBTECHNIK TWINCONE decanter centrifuge is a decanter centrifuge with a second conical drum placed downstream.
The solids are separated and concentrated by sedimentation in the first cone of the drum. The second conical drum has a larger diameter, so that a thinner layer of solids forms in front of the screw. In this second conical drum, the product can be washed and the washing liquid can be drained separately from the mother liquor.
Due to the larger diameter, large centrifugal forces are exerted on the second conical drum, and these help in better drainage.
