Pressure rupture discs (bursting discs or rupture discs) are mechanical devices for the sudden relief of pressure, both positive and negative —vacuum—, making them an effective way to protect any process subjected to pressure (equipment, systems, tanks…)
Rupture discs are sized by calculation according to ISO 4126, API RP 520, ASME section VIII.
They are manufactured in metal —stainless steels, alloys, titanium, etc…— and in graphite, and are suitable for gases, liquids and vapors.
They can be installed with a break detector.
These are security elements that require almost no maintenance, provide an instant response, are highly reliable, offer full opening, and are very economical.
