Dynamic dryers have a shaking (not vibrating) motion of the fluid bed, and are suitable for:
Material having a broad particle size distribution: The shaking of the fluid bed dryer will help discharge large particles that will not fluidize.
Sticky, clogging materials.
Temperature sensitive materials: A subfluidized condition can be created to produce plug flow and eliminate burning or discoloration of individual particles.
Brittle materials: Low amplitude fluid bed dryer shaking and speed
Reduced fluidization creates a smooth bed, causing less degradation than conventional fluid bed dryers or other mechanical dryers.
In agitated fluid bed dryers the product is moved through the equipment by a gentle, low frequency/high amplitude agitating motion, which moves the product forward in a uniform step-by-step manner, known as plug flow. Minimal product deterioration, reduced bed requirements and minimal noise output are achieved. An agitated fluid bed dryer system provides cost reduction by achieving substantial savings in fuel consumption and maintenance costs.
