The flame arrester —flame arrester or flame arrestor— are devices designed to prevent the spread of a flame produced by a deflagration or detonation.
Depending on their application, they are used for deflagrations or detonations, as well as for in-line or end-of-line installation.
The most common materials are carbon steel and stainless steel, although other materials can be manufactured upon request.
