Our water baths are custom-built in a variety of shapes and sizes and are manufactured to fit virtually any extrusion application. If Bay Plastics doesn't have a specific water bath for your process, we'll work with our in-house engineering team to design and manufacture a unit that meets your specific requirements.
The BPM WBX series of water baths comes standard with adjustable legs, allowing the equipment to be adapted to different pelletizers and extruders. They are specifically designed for vertical inline pelletizing and include quick-release, locking pressure bars, which ensure straight, uniform strands. The 2″ diameter rollers on these bars are grooved for strand alignment and are made of UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene), reducing friction between the roller and the strands. A standard water bath can incorporate three to five pressure bars, depending on its length.
Our optional water recirculation systems are also custom-designed to your specific requirements. These systems include a pump, heat exchanger, filter, and the electrical starter. To compensate for evaporation and potential spillage, the equipment incorporates an automatic water replenishment circuit that keeps the tank full and in optimal operating condition. BPM offers several heat exchanger options: the standard model is a sealed plate heat exchanger; however, plate and frame or shell and tube versions can be supplied upon request.
